Just wanted to remind everyone of this great event planned in Sparta tomorrow evening!
This is a super chance to see top musical entertainment for a very reasonable cost!

Met with the production manager this AM for some final detail work, pick up schedules and passes etc. and walk of the venue and set - it's going to be wonderful - with a distinct Festival atmosphere!

From the press kit -

Country music star Johnny Lee is coming to Sparta for the first “Fall Into Country Festival” at the Sparta fairgrounds on Friday, Sept. 11. The festival is being produced by the Randolph County Fair board of directors. “We had the opportunity to bring in Johnny Lee for a show, and we decided to incorporate more acts to expand the lineup, and it grew from there,” fair board president Derwin Brockmeyer said. “It should be a great evening of entertainment for the value.” Also on the bill is Fertile Soil, Midnight Run, and Larry and Hunter Beattie. Tickets for the event are priced at $10 per person for all ages, and are available in advance at Alligator Music at Sparta. “We encourage patrons to purchase advance wristbands to the festival in order to cut down on traffic flow entering the grounds,” Brockmeyer said. Gates for the event will open to the general public at 5 p.m. on the show date, and the music will begin at 6 p.m. Lee, rose to country music prominence with the Urban Cowboy movie soundtrack hit single “Lookin’ For Love In All The Wrong Places,” which hit number one on the country charts for three weeks, and number two on the pop charts. In addition Lee scored three more number ones with "One In A Million", which spent two weeks at #1, and "Bet Your Heart On Me", "The Yellow Rose (a duet with Lane Brody)", and "You Could've Heard a Heart Break". His string of Top 10 hits continued with "Pickin' Up Strangers," "Prisoner of Hope," "Be There for Me Baby," "Cherokee Fiddle," "Sounds Like Love," "Hey Bartender" and "Rollin' Lonely." Lee performed in Randolph County in the 1990’s at the former Pop-A-Top Nightclub to a completely sold out audience, and logistics prevented the scheduling of an additional show at that venue. “We are looking forward to bringing this show to the people of Randolph County, and if all goes well, we will begin having concerts at the fair,” Brockmeyer said. “We feel confident that Johnny Lee is a perfect fit for this family event, and a great way to kick off something that we hope will be annual in addition to the fair.” The board is also seeking vendors for the event, and those groups or businesses looking to participate as a vendor should call the fair office at 443-2619. Sponsorship packages are also available which will include a private hospitality area and meet and greet opportunities with Lee and his band. Information on those can be obtained from Brockmeyer as well. Sparta radio station Real Country 1230 WHCO, is welcoming radion station and event sponsor, which coincides with their music format. “We are excited to help sponsor this event, and to bring in a “real country” artist the calibre of Johnny Lee to Sparta,” said John Scheper, manager of the station. “This will be an event not to miss, I’m sure. We will be hosting promotions from now through the event day. We at the station look forward to working with the fair board on this and future events.”
