If you want IR a Sony DSC-P32 can be converted in about 5 minutes.
I have 3 P32's I use as IR trail camera's.
You probably now this but all that is done is remove the factory glass (inside the camera) that blocks the IR light and put in a piece of regular clear glass that is the same size.
It will let the IR light pass thru.

The same thing is done with a Sony DSC-P41 but they are a little better trail camera because its flash is just a bit stronger and its 4.1mp rather then 3.2mp.
So I save the P41 for regular white flash trail cam,s.

well, I wouldn't say I know it exactly...LOL but I have a photog friend who does lots of IR conversions for folks..and he's been pretty helpful...thanks for the info! He knows nothing about trail cams so that was especially helpful...I'm thinking that I may try to put sme sort of trail cam system together by fall...just have to see how the $ goes...
