helpin' my friend put up a stand yesterday in the July HEAT, we didn't take any water or drinks, after getting stand up he said he knew where there was a spring coming out of the hillside, we over to check it out, the water was crystal clear and C-O-L-D!, I didn't drink it but splashed it on my face and arms, what a relief!

for what I spent last year for prints, frames, gas, hotel, food, etc, I'm not sure if it's worth doing the deer classic again, for a little $5.00 plaque. I need to figure a way to make money taking photos to help pay for the costs.
It will be hard to resist entering a few photos next year though...

but as long as i'm entering a contest, it would be nice if there were some cash involved...really my next goal would be to get a photo published in a magazine somewhere or the cover of ILLINOIS Outdoor Highlights, that would be cool!

I got a photo published in a book of my little boy...but I didn't buy the book because it was like 50 bucks....One of those deals....Ill have to see if I still have the photo on my laptop.

EXCELLENT SHOT! what was it published in?

I did have a photo I took published in a book about fireplaces, I didn't really think about the photo as much as the fireplace, It was my first attempt at laying stone, and it was on my fireplace, I had a woman contact me thru my work that was looking for fireplace photos to publish in a book she was doing, I got lucky, she needed photos of fireplaces, I had some and I think the cat in the photo was the clincher, I was more proud of my stonework being published, she did put some other fireplaces in her book that I took photos of, no money for it but I did get a free book when it came out, which was pretty cool.
thats our cat Sammy Jo in the photo, he kept jumping up on couch while I was trying to take the photos and I kept knocking him off, finally a light bulb lit up in my head! DUH! that might look good in photo!

I got one of those too. Nes holding a turtle in her mouth. Then I was put in the book, but it was $80:eek:

I think it's a scam... They just remove and put in one picture (Yours) then send it out.

I kinda think they are scams too...that's why I didn't do it..but I do think it is in there..the pics are pretty little though to fit everyone elses in as well and you are only able to enter one....prolly because then they can mail and email ya that you won and you don't really give it as much thought as if you would if you got 10 I WONS! ya know.
