I jumped in my lil Nissan truck and took off from the house, 1st gear ok, 2nd gear ok, when I shifted into 3rd let the clutch out and it was like nueteral, shifted back into 2nd ok, stopped at stop sign, no gears would work, finally got it into 4th and rolled out of intersection to a parking lot. does anyone have any idea what the problem is? I thought clutch, but why would it let me shift into 4th? it's almost like the clutch isn't letting out, help! when I looked under truck I could see where clutch cable goes into transmission, was moving ok, there was a little fluid around drain plug of transmission. anyone? suggestions? local trans mechanics? (I'm an idiot for swearing)(I'm an idiot for swearing)(I'm an idiot for swearing)(I'm an idiot for swearing)! I need my truck this weekend! need to pick up stone at work, go check cams! and need it to get to airport Monday morning...

it really fits my purpose well, just use it for drivin' to the farm and thru the woods, it's like my own little four-wheeler, with air conditioning and a radio, and room for a cooler and some company and my bow and my stand and a few dead deer. that truck can turn on a 1/2 a dime, the first week I had it I tried takin it all the way thru our farm on the four wheeler trails, got within 150 yards of the end and got it wedged between two little trees, and no saw with me.

It's all I got, I'm no mechanic. So I poke fun to try to alleviate your pain.

I'm sorry your toy is broken. I sold my favorite truck to a guy in town, and now I have to see it every day. I miss that old Bronco...

Could it be the clutch pressure plate ?
Dont ask me though, I just know they go out on manual trannies.

that was a nice truck fltlndr! I had an 87 chevy pick up 4x4, 350 c.i. bought it new in 87 and had it paid off in 2 1/2 years, in my mind thats makin money, no payment, my wife hated it I finally got rid of it in '02, sold it to someone in waterloo... the next truck I had was a GMC highrider, same as s-10 zr2, awesome little truck, should of kept it too...

It was great to drive while scouting fields you could see over everything.
