The Custom String Suppressor (CSS) is basically the same tool as a STS but is lighter because it doesn't have the small block to adjust the length for each different make of bow.
It is more appealing (IMO) because it is camo dipped to match your bows camo and it also doesn't have that block I mentioned above.

The CSS helps with any vibration or noise your bow might make upon release of the arrow.
It does this by stopping the string from going forward past it's starting position.
I know YOUR bow doesn't make any noise.

Or so you thought.
I have never shot my 07 Bow Tech with out it so I cant really say how much of a difference it made for it.
The reason I have never shot it without the CSS is because I added a CSS to my old bow (Hoyt) and couldn't believe I was shooting the same bow.
So it was no question that I would have one on my 07.

Back to "Or so you thought"
It doesn't matter what make/brand of bow you shoot I have read/heard from people with about ever bow on the market say the CSS made a great difference in there bow noise.

Does it affect shot placement ?
When I added it to my old bow it did not.

Another thing the CSS will do (if you have this problem) is element string slap. If you have this problem you know what I'm talking about.

Unlike the other string stop with its standard one size fits all (with the adjustable block) the CSS is made for your bow.
When you order you need to tell what bow/year and what camo it has.
It then screws into the hole located on back side of the stabilizer hole.

I wanted to add that if you have a bow that is more then a couple years old or a bow that isn't as common as some (Bow Tech, Mathews, Hoyt, etc) then you will need to take a measurement for one of the Custom String Suppressors.

Here is how/where the measurement is done.
