I've been wanting one of thse bad boys for years and finally pulled the plug on it. I'm telling ya first hand, if you need a top notch cutting board, drive yourself up to the John Boos factory store on East Fayette Ave. in Effingham. They whacked $51 bucks off their own retail online price as well as threw in another small cutting board for my wife and a huge dishwasher safe one as well for free with my purchase. The wife said they treated her like royalty. (Hope she doesn't expect that at home..LOL)
Here it 'tis and I am ready to do some major pork but choppin'!:
24" x 18" x 2.25" maple with stainless steel handles and juice groove.

I'm sure ya would have Bird and I thank ya. Gave it a trial run last weekend and the new Dexter Russell cleaver got right on it.
A nice cutting board is a MUST in my kitchen. And no puny wee ones either. I was blessed enough for a buddy to make one for me, and it gets used EVERY DAY!
Mine looks like this one... no juice groove though... LOL

I like yours. I just have to remember to keep it maintained w/ mineral oil and the special Boo's oil too.

Dave here is the first of a run of blocks I am working on for Christmas presents. I made this one out of scraps from cutting and ripping larger pieces. I have another I am working on for a neighbor where I got a bunch of trees given to me for the price of removing them off of fences and fixing the fences after the May 8th storm. In fact all of this wood came off of that farm over the last couple years, to show gratitude the entire family is getting butcher blocks made off the family farm.
Anyway this is the first of this year, a few different woods.... and this isn't the prettiest or biggest one either, the rest will be a finished 2' thick and 12" x18."
This one is not entirely finished yet.

Sorry. 2" thick not 2' thick. 2' thick I would have to just carry the log cant in with the pallet forks on the tractor and set it on it's own support stand.
