Well I guess I tempted fate too long. Hang my cams in a NO MOTOROIZED VEHICLE AREA.

Well they are there. Had my cams in this area about a month, and the trails are being more and more heavily used. There was a trap out there w/ a tag and phone # on it that was being used for hawk and owl research.

One week it was intact, the next it was in 100 pieces. 2 weeks later my cam is gone. Track right past the cam location. They keep expanding their range, making new trails.

I mark all my cams in sharpie, and a note saying "PLEASE DON"T STEAL; I WORK HARD TOO, but no avail.

Plus crop damage.

May Karma break down their $6000 machines.:mad:

ATVers wonder why no one wants them around.
What really sucks is I have one and still dont want them around where I have cams.

You might try having one of these printed up and attached to your cams.
Probably wont work but better then nothing.

I know a few guys that have went so far as to have antenna skins attached to there cams to they appear to have a cellular connection.



These are antenna skins but they are really used for an antenna with this video unit.

Sorry to hear what happened with your cameras.the pics looked like the area we turkey hunted, when i'm down at the club and running around i'll keep my eyes peeled when i drive by that area, if thats the same area .

Next time set a bear trap under the camera, they may get away but you can always have the police do a search at local hospitals for anyone lately who has come in with a leg missing or beat to hell!

That is a good idea. It takes a real work of art to take a camera like that.

im with bird hunter you should put some sort of tree trap there that hangs them upside down or have a rock fall on them that would be kool

Public, hence the no motorized vehicles...

These folks have zero regard for anything but themselves. They tear up land, other peoples stuff, and steal.

I logged a complaint w/ the regional DNR, and called one of the CPO's I have a card from. I will continue to call them until someone tells me they're gonna check it out.

That's good that you are going through with it......maybe youll get something done if not at least they are aware!

They need to put a couple of no flash units up and get them in action then hang'em.
For riding in a restricted area if nothing else.

Sorry that happened Bob but really doesn't surprise me. Unfortunatley, some people get their jollies from other people's pains. They think it is cool to steal and vandalize and go brag to their friends about it. Kind of makes you wanna make a little spider web out of piano wire across their trail.

ATVers get on them things and think they can ride them anywhere over anybody's property and in any "no motorized vehicle" zone. They do it all over Shawnee NF. Why? Because no one polices it...there are no consequences for doing it. They should take their friggin' ATV away if they get caught on them...no questions asked. Word would get around and would probably stop them for the most part. Hit folks hard in the pocket book and it will wake them. Some people have NO RESPECT for anyone or anything.

I truly believe in "what goes around comes around". They will get their's someday Bob.

Kinda like the police trucks you see with lettering saying they were confiscated from drug dealers or DUI's.

Did they just see/spot the trail camera or do you think the flash gave it away at night ?
Not that it hurts any less just wondered.

I think they saw it during the day. I had it about 30 yards back in the woodline, and I don't think they'd ride in there in the dark, but who knows?

The tree it was in was dead, and looked like lightning hit it since the last time I was there. Now that might have been a great pic if the cam was on the tree when it happened.
