We had the chance to go bowfishing with Duane C. yesterday. We don't get to see Duane nearly as much as we'd like.
First fish of the day was this very dark spotted gar.

I really like Duane's shirt. It says "I'll eat carp when fish fly".
(Duane is a fisheries biologist studying the asian carps...ie:jumping silvers)

***note - don't try holding a gar this way unless you know what you're doing, have strong hands and a high pain threshold!***

He later got a double (two fish on one arrow) on silver carp. But somehow we didn't get a still picture of it. We do have it on video...sooooo when I learn how to put that online I'll try to show it. Don't hold yer breath on that one. ;)

It was great to spend the afternoon with Duane. We didn't connect with any good sized grassies like we'd hoped but it was a blast just the same.

No it's a spotted. Sometimes with very large spotteds or with these very dark spotteds it can be difficult to see the spots on their heads. The pics of this one were just to fuzzy with the little P&S camera C was using to pick out the spots but they were there.
