Anyone ever check out this site? The cougar sighting haven't been updated but include some from our area property down in Pope County. Look for the entries from lu-lu. Thats my Aunts and family property.

Don't know how much time you've spent on there? I've been ordering the almanac for about 5 years. The guy who put it all together, Jim Jung, passed away back in March. I don't know where we'll get our so-lunar tables after the end of the year. Him and Ruby are great folks.
It is a great local focus almanac, and great "office" reading material.
I stumbled upon this site several years ago. Very interesting subject. I have spoken with a couple of outdoorsmen who have allegedly seen a few as well as footprints in Jefferson Co. I heard one got hit by a car near Steeleville, however the owners did not want to come forward, "afraid of trouble from the state" my girlfriend has seen the pictures of the roadkill.

I've used that almanac for sometime as well. That is sad to hear about Mr. Jungs passing. As for the cougar....Critter sees one with regularity in the bottoms off Butter creek and union school road in Randolph county....DNR thinks he's a lunatic...he told them at some point..it may get shot..to whch they replied ...oh you can't shoot it..it's a protected species...to which he replied...but you just said it doesn't exist.
No photos...he's usually in the tractor or on the gator and has no camera with him...I am tempted to try and use a blind and hang out..but his sightings really don't have a pattern and I could be there for months...
The guys out at General Dynamics have pics of the cougars that run around in the wild life refuge along with two packs of wolves with between 4 and 10 in each pack. They watched the DNR release them in the wild life refuge but ya know what the local conservation officers say they dont know nothing about that even when ya show them photos, wonder why that is;)

I would love to get one on a trail or video trail camera.
I talk to a guy from Co. who has got some of the best big cat pictures I have ever seen.
He is the one that uses and told me about the Fur FindR.
I would post a couple of his pictures but will have to clear it with him first.

Its worth it.
