This video came from the below set up.

http://www.siloutdoors.com/showthread.php?t=695

I changed how I had planned to use the remote sensors though.
I set 3 of them out but had them set so when any one of them triggered it started the video camera recording.
It worked well as you can tell from the video (if you waited for it to load) the video camera was recording when the deer got in front of the video camera.
This makes it possible to use a slow starting video camera as a trail video camera.
It also makes it possible to have the video camera itself 15 yards away and 12' up in a tree, thanks to the radio frequency control board.

I also bought a new chip for the R/F board that makes it possible to start the camera recording with a hand held remote.
The remote is sold by the same company as the X10 sensors and is the same size as a car door lock remote.
I cant wait to try video recording my own hunt with this set up.
I am wanting to have the same board put in my other video trail camera unit so I can have one ground level and the other up in a tree recording the hunt from 2 different angles using the 1 hand held remote.

I just found out that it (remote) is back from being dipped. :D

I haven't got it home yet to put it back together.
The remote is small enough if I would have used a camo with a large pattern the remote would have ended up one color so i went with Mossy Oak Brush.

You should have dipped it orange. Now when you drop it outta your tree it'll be harder to find. HEHE.

Here is an update on my video camera I will be using to try and record my own hunt with.

I got the antenna all hooked up tonight and also modified the external mic so the beautiful sound of the arrow hitting home can be heard. :D
I only need to get the piece of glass and put it in then its going to have 3D camo put on.
Liquid nails is used to make it look like tree bark.
A friend of mine will be doing that, I normally use camo dipped cases but had this one so I figured I would use it.
The black thing on the right side is half of a quick detach mount (kwikee quiver type) I will mount the camera on a tree near the expected trail that will be used and hit the remote to start recording.

Here is also an updated picture of the remote I had dipped, all put back together.
I have a second one, in case I drop and lose this one, Bob. :p

The up and down arrows are used for zoom.

I'll post more pictures after I get it back from being 3D camouflaged.

Still have to put the lens glass in but getting close to being done.

I figure the fake leaves will give the deer something to eat during the late season when everything else has died off. LOL joking !

Maybe would be thieves will think its poison ivy and leave it alone ? :D

yes

But I cant take credit for it a friend did it for me.
He always uses 3D and I normally always use dipped camo, this and the budget trail cam I posted are the only 2 I have that aren't dipped.

Flat, I hate to be the one to tell you this.
You totally messed up the camera box. It should have been printed yellow, like a pile-o-corn. Then you'd have gotten some up close shots. LOL

Just kidding ya.

Finished up the little bit of soldering and putting everything in its place.

Tested the remote out to 30 yards will test for more distance later.

Only thing left to do is clean the glass ( I see after taking the pic's) and getting a kill on video. :D

The Sony is a TRV240

I have this home made video trail camera mount made out of re-bar, I might have posted about it before.

But I did some upgrading on it.

dressed it in 3D leaf camo now.

Hopefully the deer wont decide to eat it during the late season. LOL
