wife & I went to SouthSide Ribs in Sparta tonight, (Roadhouse was closed), we had heard the service was very, very slow, which is ok if you know that going in and we were not in a hurry, so decided to give it a try the service was so good that our food came about 2 minutes after we received our salads, the food was excellent! so thumbs up! for Southside Ribs! check it out!

So what's on the menu? How is pricing? And I would assume casual?

Ribs, pulled pork, chicken, steak, burgers, hot dogs, pricing is fair, I don't mind paying a little more if i'm not hungry when i leave and I wasn't, very casual, really just an old bar converted into a small restaurant.

It really is a good place...the service can be spotty...but it has gotten lots better....pricing seems fair to me because portions are huge! Every item we've had there has been excellent....

We got to try out Southside while we were on our little trip and it was pretty good......Huntrz told me he made a post a long time ago so I thought I would pull it up.....

It was really really busy, SAT night 7 or so I think...we sat up at the bar at first and then got our table....ordered an app and it came out quick with the salad but the food was a little slow can't blame em when it was so busy I guess...

That is pretty wild. I called them yesterday to see if they were open as I wanted to try their ribs out. They didn't open until 4P so I stopped by EEE in Marion on my way home from ze club and grabbed some of those smoked chops that I like so well. I thought you guys did Valentines Fri nite or was I UZI (under 'ze influence)?

we ordered the onion pedals for a app too and B had a salad...they also had a full bar! :D

looks like I probably did pass you on the road...LOL we were headed back from Blair about that time ...and I had to go through town to pick up some stuff instead of the back way..

That photo from my cell phone doesn't do the porksteak B got any justice, that thing was HUGE! at least 1 1/4" thick and it's a good thang, cuz B can put it away! it was a little slow getting the food, but like I said in my original post, "That's ok as long as you know it going in"

this is onlythe second time i've eaten there, but i will go back, especially since the Roadhouse has closed.

how often do you go there Gretchen?, you live closer than I do, but we do spend a lot of time in Sparta area.I also heard that the place that used to be Brandy's is open and it's pretty good!

What happened to the Roadhouse? Maybe I need to buy it.

Huntrz.. we rarely eat out ..sometimes I meet friend there for lunch.. but we just don't eat out very often. I don't know about what used to Brandies.. I haven't really heard much about them yet.. Carmicheals is usually pretty good.. a little pricey for my budget, but our friends own it..and it does have good food etc.. a ncie place.

I have hard time eating out.. I get the bill and think yeegads.. I could have bought a weeks worth of groceries for this! LOL
