Noticed this am the bluegill were working on the beds a good bit on the farm pond...they didn't appear to have much size to them...but I'll give them a whirl later on this evening....

They where catching them left and right.....but no size as you can see.......Still fun for the kids and they don't have to wait around for a bite all day....I love to see there little faces when they catch one!

That's about the size we were catching below the spillway at Carlyle last weekend. Good thing the catfish we were catching were bigger.

waiting on hubby to finish supper then I'm to tightline....that's the great thing about the little blue gill...the kids don't care - they are just tickled to death to be catching fish!

A few years ago my wife and I were fishing on the east side of the spillway below Carlyle Lake when an DNR guy came around doing a survey to determine how well their fisheries projects were doing. While I was talking to him a green sunfish less than 2" got on my line. Yeah, it ended up in the survey. How embarrassing! That small of fish in my permanent record.

Nice pictures. Too bad about the tightlining, but if that had worked out you wouldn't have gotten these photos.
