Kevin is putting it on up at Old School. I look forward to just reeling in after years of wrapping on a drum reel... I'll still use the recurve though too. Getting it put on my old round cam Browning. Here I come!!!!:D

Have you ever tried an AMS retriever reel before? Bob 06-30-2007, 07:38 I'll be very interested to hear how you like it. Have you ever tried an AMS retriever reel before? Nope1st time for it..., always used my recurve, and a tape on reel. carpsniper 06-30-2007, 08:41 Do you use the safety slides on your arrows already? Make sure you only use arrows with slides or rings with the compound set-up. We wanna keep you around for awhile. ;) BOOYAH 06-30-2007, 11:43 Do you use the safety slides on your arrows already? Would be nice to know if i get a new bow an set mine up for fishing. Thanks Bob 06-30-2007, 11:56 The last time I shot an arrow with no slides I was about 16...I don't think they existed yet... Prefer the slides to cable... I wanna be around awhile yet too... Boo, slides and cables are attached to your arrow, you tie your line to that, that way if something happens and the arrow doesn't go, it doesn't come flying back at you. It could easily take out your eye or kill you.. duckman1120 06-30-2007, 12:48 you will love the reel. i tried a couple different rell and this is the best one so far by a long shot carpsniper 07-01-2007, 12:31 Booyah, Please check these links, http://www.amsbowfishing.com/information.php?info_id=6 http://www.amsbowfishing.com/includes/features/warning/sboccur.html The second one is the most convincing reason to use slides I can think of. This shows the slide and stopper http://www.amsbowfishing.com/images/A325-3.jpg BOOYAH 07-01-2007, 15:23 OUCH!!!!!!!!!!! thats a very good reason not to do that. Thanks carpsniper 07-05-2007, 11:10 So Bob, that new reel seen any action yet? Bob 07-05-2007, 15:11 I took it out and got about 3 shots out of it. It works grat. I think the boat will have to go out tomorrow. My retrieve time has been cut 10 fold. I like it. carpsniper 07-07-2007, 02:07 The drum reel will never seem the same. :D Bob 07-07-2007, 06:49 Well it works. I whacked a gar couple days ago, and took the canoe out to Becks yesterday. Saw a decent amount of carp, but they seemed a bit extra spooky. I managed 3 commons. It was HOT!!! Makes it nice to see em like this... http://www.siloutdoors.com/imagehosting/1468f7d857d5c9.jpg |
