View Full Version : Reflections on Bass Fishing... huntrz 06-29-2007, 06:14 http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g125/huntrz_2006/bass1cut.jpg Bob 06-29-2007, 06:46 That's a great shot... thanks. gretchensteele 07-01-2007, 10:45 Outstanding shot...hope you are entering your shots in some other photo contests...however..could ya stay away from the State Fair so I have fighting chance?? LOL huntrz 07-01-2007, 11:02 the state fair has a photo contest? I may have to try and enter a few, can you give me some more info on it? I entered my first contest in Feb. the Illinois Deer & Turkey Classic. did pretty good, you should enter that one next year. http://www.deerinfo.com/IL_contests.asp#PhotoContest http://www.deerinfo.com/IL_PhotoContestsWinners.asp BAM 07-01-2007, 11:14 Nice job Huntrz..... that's good it's only open to amateur photographers....That gives everyone a chance.......and it's good it's only 5 bucks a photo..... Where did that take place at??? Did you have yours framed? Did you have to be present? Did you do the trail cam contest? huntrz 07-01-2007, 11:29 it was held in Bloomington Illinois if you're a deer hunter you should be there already, awesome to see some of the bucks coming out of Illinois, and most are coming from counties that haven't gotten the publicity (yet) of Pike. I went out and bought wooden frames with glass only to find out you can have no glas so I just mounted mine in cardboard matts. You do not have to be present to win but you have to enter them in person, so best to just plan on spending at least one day there you can enter them on SUnday judging is Sunday afternoon. I did not do the trailcam contest, that usually is chosen by the biggest bucks, which I haven't had much luck getting on my cams. flatlander 07-01-2007, 12:59 HZ That is an awesome bass picture. You better watch it someone will put a hit out on you next year, placing in all those different categories. Every time I see that picture of yours that was from your bear tree stand I think that trip would have been worth it just to sit and look at that view. Brad Are you going to enter any predator trail camera picture's next year ? huntrz 07-01-2007, 13:10 I don't get the quality of predator pics you get, you should enter some of those bobcat pics you get, i still think that one that gslam had of the bobcat in the rock outcropping is one of the best i've ever seen. huntrz 07-01-2007, 13:12 so when and where is your bear hunt flatlander? flatlander 07-01-2007, 13:56 so when and where is your bear hunt flatlander? ATTENTION BOB : I was asked about it I didn't bring it up. LOL I will be hunting zone 51 near Duluth Mn, season opens Sept 1 and I plan on being in a tree stand that day. i still think that one that gslam had of the bobcat in the rock outcropping is one of the best i've ever seen. He also goes to the D&T Classic or does he just go to the ATA show ? Bob 07-01-2007, 14:02 ATTENTION BOB : I was asked about it I didn't bring it up. LOL ROFLOMAO... literally... as soon as I saw that, I thought "Well that'll bee enough to get him warmed up." Hehehe...:D huntrz 07-01-2007, 14:13 SO, are you going to be picky? or shoot the first bear that shows up? are you going to have cams up before the opener so you can see whats visiting bait and when? what kind of broadhead are you going to use? bow poundage? treestand? boots? socks????????????????????????????????????????????? ????? flatlander 07-01-2007, 14:54 SO, are you going to be picky? or shoot the first bear that shows up? are you going to have cams up before the opener so you can see whats visiting bait and when? what kind of broad head are you going to use? bow poundage? tree stand? boots? socks????????????????????????????????????????????? ????? Yes I will be wearing all of that, boots socks and a few other things. LOL I will be ordering a new Lone Wolf climber in the next week or so but I wont need to bring any stands on my trip, land owner has that covered. Apparently you haven't been keeping up around here MR. I know Bob loves to hear me go on about my bear hunt. :D As you know this will be my first bear hunt and I am going to try and be some what picky. I wont shot the first bear but wont be waiting for the next record bear either. I will be hunting with a another guy from RDHC on his property and he probably has more trail camera's and video camera's then I do. He posted a couple bear pictures the other day and is going to be putting trail and video cams over bait site. He is also planning on video taping my hunt for me, when he isn't working. Bow ???? :D I got a new one a couple months ago, 07 Bow Tech Allegiance in Mossy Oak Brush. It has a 60lb DW (old bow was at 67) with 29" DL, birth certificate reads 311FPS with a 300g arrow. I know speed isn't everything just passing on the #'s. I am shooting a 408g arrow (including broad head), dont know how fast it slings them. Slick Trick broad heads will be leading the arrow to the boiler room. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a231/silbowhunter/DSC00303a.jpg Got the bow May 12 and have put right at 1K arrows threw it so far. Even went and ordered a new target to shot at. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a231/silbowhunter/DSC00565a.jpg I've spent a lot of money/time getting read for this hunt but I am looking at it like it's a one time bear hunt for me. Even though I know it is going to be addictive just like hunting whitetails. I haven't been yet and already would like to do it again. LOL BAM 07-01-2007, 15:06 Huntrz.I think I remember a doe in a creek you had with your trail cam that was nice....wasn't that yours?? I guess even the nicest pic of a doe doesn't compare to a big buck though...
