Well my son connected the 2nd day of second season. 1st day never seen nor did we hear a single male bird. so what makes the difference between one day to the next? was a fun hunt, as had the dominant birds working, but would not come within gun range for a shot. they finally had enough and went on their merry way. A jake came screaming in when seen them dominate birds leave, but he came to a screaming halt when he busted us. I worked 2 jakes in and my sons tag got used. was glad to see him get his today, as last day he could hunt with school. Had it down and tagged by 7:20. weighed right at 15+ 1/4 inch spur and a 2 7/8 inch beard. nothing spectacular, but them birds are not working yet. called a hen in yesterday within 6 yards of us, but not a male to be seen or heard. hopefully i get mine later part of the week.

Nice Bird! Glad the weather held out for ya, its getting silly again down here. Clouds moved in and its getting cold again...:( Looks like rain but the radar shows its still down by Springfield MO.

LOL, you noticed. yep was a fine bird to clean. son has 3 birds now in his lifetime, and 2 of the 3 birds he almost beheaded.
