I am going to hunt either all of thursday or all of friday, thurs would be optimal, since the pressure from other hunters has been away for 2 weeks, but the weather looks to be abysmal (I'll be in way southern IL, 90% chance of showers and thunderstorms Thursday :( ). maybe it would be better to hunt Friday? Or have you had MUCH luck when the weather is horrible (not SOME luck, but GOOD luck, as we all have a story or 2 about shooting/seeing one in the rain...).

Friday will also be the first full day of the supposed "cold snap" that is coming thru, may have them more active?

What do all of you think?

I'm with you, I don't know what to do. I have off Thurs. - Sat. and 2 ML tags to fill. Looks like it's gona rain ALL DAY too. I think that there will be a big push of ducks over those few days as well. Friday could be awesome for both if it's cold and snowy. As for pressure, I think that they won't get shot up too bad Thurs. due to it's a mid week day, and the weather. Only die hards will stay out more than a couple hours in that...

I bow hunted in an all day rain this year, and saw some pretty good deer movement. Does running and bucks sparring in a partially cut corn field. Didn't seem to bother them much. I'll hunt rain, but when it actually storms, I'm out. I spent 3 years getting a kick ass gore tex suit, (AKA: enlisted) and it works very well. I think that if it is just a rain, the deer could be moving hard feeding before the front moves in.

If you only get one day, I'd probably pick Fri. due to the fact that you'll probably be able to log more time in the woods. Once your damp, you'll want to bail. BUT if you aren't into being cold, then Thurs. is your day. PIck your poison, and have fun:) Good luck.

All that, and I'm still undecided...

I cant decide which day to hunt. i m still in school so i cant get out there all day or i would be. Ill be hunting thursday and friday evenings. Then ill go duck hunting the reast of the weekend in the morning and go back at the bow hunting in the evenings. Too bad the only place you can bow hunt around here this weekend is peabody river king.

No way Josh, think of it as a refuge away from all the mayhem. The deer will go where the people ain't, and that's Peabody...;) You have a good chance of whacking one out there...
