Thankfully the rain held off pretty much until we got in and got the blind set up.. shortly after that - the sky opened up and that was the order of the morning...rain..wind..more rain... more wind.. deluge..aha..temp is dropping...but everyone stayed in good humor and we had a great morning..wet, but great

The boys can give you their version when they log in ..Forgive the image quality - it was tough shooting this am, shooting well before daylight as well, no use of a flash, ugly light..pouring rain... so......

~ 0515 - Gotta start with a little planning and strategy meeting.. ;)

~ 0630 - get the decoys out.. ..just starting to sprinkle..

0645 - Bob hunker's down to call noting that if "this rain gets much worse, you're making room for me in there!" To his credit.. Fearless Leader stayed in place throughout it all and never made it into the blind...gotta love gore tex eh?;)

about the time we could see the birds had gone long silent..I heard a small voice say..."this would be a good time to take a nap..."

Should be a little easier tracking them with the snow today, right? :D Great pictures. Gretchen, while the experts would complain about that first one's lighting, personally I like it because it gives it more of the feel of being there. If you'all do go out again today, good luck.

I was running around with short sleeves 2 days ago. What happened?

Thanks Mdoc.. it was wonderful to be part of this with the boys. I just wish the weather would have been a little better and we would have had a few more photo ops.. preferably a trophy gobbler for each of them.. heaven knows those two earned it going out in that weather!

Great shots G, shame the weather was so bad for the youth season. I hope they both get a big ol gobbler next time out.

Great Shots, the first is my fav simply because it reminds me of every morning heading out to waterfowl hunt out there.

The ones with Scott and son are great too.
