this winter i want to start taping my hunts and was wondering if there is a computer program that will allow me to edit the video and do fun stuff with it. i was also wondering if anyone had a idea on what type of video recorder i should get. thanks

There are several that cost any where from $50 + some cost well into the 100's of dollars.
If you want something but aren't looking for professional grade video Windows Movie Maker is free.
I dont know much about what video camera to use, I have only messed with video cameras used as a trail camera.
Take a look at and log onto http://www.huntingfootage.com/ there are several people who know a lot about video taping hunts on that forum.
Adobe Premiere is a good editing program, but it costs... there are plenty out there.
Cameras: the big thing now is digital... the Canon GL1 would be awesome. Panasonic and Sony both make comparable cams. These are over $1000, but are production quality stuff. You could get a decent smaller one for half that or less.
Then you get into the issue of remote mics, tripod is a necessity, etc.
