This year at the Hunting & Fishing Days Celebration in Southern Illinois BASI will be host to a new addition to the event, a bowfishing range and bowfishing seminars.

I talked this last week with the head of the event, (that has been held at John A. Logan community college sence 1987, Southern Illinois Hunting and Fishing days is the largest celebration in the country with over 30k people attending) And He gave us the

We will have the range set up in the canal on the campus, with a number of bows set up and gar and carp targets submerged in the water to give kids and adults the chance to shoot at them and get an idea of what the sport is about. Also giving them chances at prizes on our prize table. I would like to also thank bowfisher5 (Dave, BAA Illinois Rep.) and our sponsors for the backing to get this going.

We will also have bowfishing rigs at the show to let people see how boats are set up for the sport and also to give people ideas for their own projects.

This year will be a big year for bowfishing at southern Illinois hunting and fishing days.

A great event. I've only been there once, and loved it. Lots of stuff there for everyone!

It is.. everything from Duck Calling to Bird Dog Challenge to Fox Hunting.

We will have a Bowfishing Shooting Range and will have some boats for everyone to check out. We'll have a Airboat,Fan Boat, and regular bowfishing boats. We will have Seminars,Brocheres,and Bowfishing Staff for sale... mabe a few freebies.
